INDIAN CASTE SYSTEM
Imagine , how would our India be without Caste system ? There Will Be Equality in every caste whether it is lower caste or higher caste. A person's worth is determined by his knowledge and capacity and the inherent Qualities which mark his conduct in life . Those from the "Lowest" castes are told that their place in the caste hierarchy is due to their sins in the past life,what do you think is this true ? and the people from "higher" caste are treated with better facilities.
In my opinion , the caste system affects the society by making the people more exposed to prejudice , stereotypes and other things . This difference related to caste system often cause disputes within the society . However how this caste system affects the society depends on how you see it .
Our society i.e Indian society is caste ridden . And it is totally filled with inequality and injustice . Nowdays only if you visit most of villages in India , the people of one (Higher) caste don't like to mix with people of other (Lower) caste. Not only in villages but also in most of cities you can get to see these caste differences . Democracy itself has become a mockery owing to this evil .
From time to time many social reformers and thinkers have tried to eradicate this evil but no avail . The caste system can be only eradicated by changing the mindset of the people . Even Mahatma gandhi ji could not do much for the eradication of untouchability .
Problem about caste system is persisting largerly because of the illetracy and ignorance of the people .
Therefore if the evil of caste system is to be eradicated every possible effort should be made to educate the people and thus create a strong public opinion against the evil . School textbooks should be carefully revised . Lessons should be included to teach the students that the caste system is man made.
Originally man was not born into any cast; his caste was determined by his learning or by nature of work he did in life . Basically all human beings are equal . We all human being have same kind of blood in our veins.
Every effort should be made to change the psychology of people , and strict action taken against offenders .
